whooooooooo!
just came back from (finally) watching The Dark Knight
unbelievably awesomeness.
yes, I know its wrong grammatically, but its awesome enough to deserve a little bending of english law.
so there.
:p
Its been such a roller coaster of emotions this whole day
and the words of God whispered at the altars.
the suitcases of guilt, left at the base of the cross on a hill, along the path of righteousness;
the concrete trunk of fear, unhooked off of the weary back;
the weariness, the worry, washed away
as He says again "I won't pass you by"
"I won't pass you by"
"I won't leave you, I won't forsake you"
"I can't."
"I sent my son, my only son, to die for you;"
"I've sent people into your life to speak words I told them to"
"I've sent you dreams, visions;"
"I've reached out and touched you before;"
"If I've done so much for you, what makes you think I'm going to give up now"
and the tears that flow :)
as the burdens are lifted and left
at the foot of the cross
forgiveness found
freely given, freely received.
In the garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus beheld the cup that was about to be poured out
here, we see Jesus fearful.
fearful?
We've seen Him joyful, we've seen Him weeping, we've seen Him stern
but fearful?
when Jesus came to earth, He was as much of a man as you and me
the difference?
Jesus had God inside Him, all the way
from His very birth
Jesus was God wrapped in Human skin and flesh
He faced everything we're facing, and then some
He knew fear.
He knew what fear was.
He knew fear to the point that he sweated blood
its called hematidrosis, when the body is stressed to its limits, the capillaries burst, and sweat comes out tinged with blood
"Jesus fell to the ground" (Mark 14:35)
Jesus was "full of pain" (Luke 22:44)
Here, we see Jesus at His most pained
but rather than put up a mask of strength, He looks to His Father for strength.
He prays
He says “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” (Matthew 26:39, NLT)
"If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away"
Jesus doesn't want it.
He knows the pain
its not just a physical pain mind you, its like throwing Himself into the very inner rooms of the enemy.
but He says, okay Father, if you need to be, because you love these people so much, then its okay, I'll do it.
He puts up no mask; instead He merely lifts up His request.
Be Christlike
put up no mask
merely lift up to Him your request
and let Him do the rest :)
whoosh-a-wa-wa
leave me a moment with my King :)
God bless
